"Roppongi Hills, that's where I wanna be"

OK, so that's not quite the Weezer lyric, but just as with Beverly Hills, Roppongi Hills is seemingly "where you wanna be" if you are young, rich and beautiful (and live in Tokyo). And Clare is young and beautiful and Rich is Rich (please note the use of the second capital "R" there).

This area is where the modern sky scrapers are, as well as some great little bars and restaurants. We finally see a more modern side to Tokyo after the distinctly 1980s looking buildings in Shinjuka.

Clare took another photo of Rich not looking at the camera...

Before finally getting a selfie (no selfie sticks were used to make this picture).

Clare has mastered the train system - after watching a YouTube video on it while in the UK.

Clare pointed out an apparently famous "Maman" spider sculpture to Rich, which is outside the Museum of Modern Art.

Rich was impressed but managed to hold back his excitement well.  Clare then  took Rich to the museum - again Rich, although terribly excited, managed to contain himself.

He did take some pictures of fancy bits of plastic.

There was an amazing room where you sat on the floor and there were lights and sounds and shizzle.  Clare was mesmerised and stayed there for 4 repeats of the video.  Rich managed to not fall asleep.

After the museum and some lunch (see McDonalds world tour blog entry), we left "the hills" as the locals may or may not call it an to see the Imperial Palace.  You can't go inside but there are some manicured trees, a bridge and a handsome man so all was not lost.

The nice man even let Clare borrow his camera. You can see her shot in National Geographic's September issue.

Then back to "the Hills" for drinks and dinner (see separate entry on Tel and Andie's).
