Not a bad bite to eat

After some careful planning Clare found somewhere she could eat as much as she could manage while pretending to be sophisticated.

The Hyatt Tokyo, New York Bar and Grill (apparently made slightly famous by "Lost in Translation") has a not at all reasonably priced Sunday brunch with a jazz band.

The views were insanely good.

The food was better - first the appetizer buffet.  Sushi, meats, cheese, vegetables and lots of them. Clare, the master of buffets, made short work of her plate(s).

Then came main course - Rich decided that having a Japanese steak (for an additional £50) was not only reasonable but necessary. When it arrived he concentrated very hard to ensure just he got the sauce to meat ratio just right.

Meat to sauce ratio sorted the mains were finished off quickly.

Then on to the dessert buffet - ice cream, pecan pie, chocolate soufflé, cookies, panna cotta - there was no end to the options.  Rich managed 9 to Clare's 5.  Clare was distraught. These are the first 4 Rich managed to polish off.

Then off we went to explore more of Tokyo. We spent some time in the Shinjuku Gyoen national garden, as a stroll around the park (or should that be roll around the park) seemed like a good way to work off some calories.

Still full from lunch, Clare thought we had decided not to have dinner. That is until Rich decided olives were essential with his G&T - at £1 an olive Rich has taken his short trip to the Hyatt as an indication that money is no object when it comes to food...
